Whether your pleasure is gazing into the mouth of an open volcano on an Island off Vanuatu, swimming with humpback whales, or scuba diving in deep blue underwater caves, Adventure World has something for you.

All the adventure world islands showcased in their newest brochure are off the beaten track and not for people who like to run with the pack.

Its inaugural remote South Pacific collection, First Footprints, is designed for the bold traveller looking for authentic experiences at island destinations that continue to embrace their centuries-old traditions and culture.

Time has stood still in the First Footprint locations of Mare, Lifou and Ouvea in The Loyalty Islands – New Caledonia, Tanna, Pentecost, Malekula in Vanuatu, Tonga, Niue, Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea and Atiu – Cook Islands.

And for the first time, Adventure World is offering the untouched and unaffected natural beauty of these remote locations to Australian travellers.

“For other thirty years, Adventure World has been known to hand-pick diverse destinations that have paths less travelled. We’re delighted to announce that the First Footprints collection continues this long-standing tradition to offer authentic, environmental, cultural and rewarding holiday experiences,” said Diane Moynihan, Head of Product, Adventure World.

“We have identified a demand for more authentic experiences in the South Pacific. Befittingly, we’ve responded to our consumers’ needs with a collection of island destinations that are relatively undiscovered and unspoilt; and certainly a far cry from the beaten tracks of the tourist masses,” said Ms Moynihan.

The First Footprints collection offers 17 new unique experiences including a five night Tropical Experience Papua New Guinea tour from $2,825 per person, a seven night Finding Nemo Solomon Islands tour from $1,429 per person and a seven night Beachfront Escape to Ouvéa in the Loyalty Islands from only $1,639 per person.

“We take the guess work out of holiday planning with our first-hand destination knowledge, and impeccable attention to detail. This new island collection offers more choice for Australian travellers looking to immerse themselves in authentic local culture in unspoilt locations, and enjoy the natural and unaffected beauty of these remote islands destinations,” concluded Ms Moynihan.

One of the most secluded areas in Papua New Guinea will be readily accessible to travellers at the start of 2012, with the opening of the first resort at the Conflict Islands. Consisting of 22 pristine, untouched islands, the Conflict Islands group is located in the Lower Milne Bay area, at the top of the Coral Sea, and boasts world-renowned diving and fishing experiences.

The private Conflict Islands resort is located on the Island of Panasesa and consists of six traditional double occupancy timber bungalows complete with beachfront balconies. These bungalows include modern comforts such as air-conditioning, mini bar with iPod dock, and an ensuite bathroom.

Each bungalow can be fitted with either a queen bed or two king singles, with a maximum of 12 people on the island at any one time.

The islands are part of the Milne Bay Province, which is famous for its array of diving locations and unique coral reefs which have twice the diversity of the Great Barrier Reef. Alotau, on the edge of Milne Bay and part of the mainland, is a popular base from which to explore the surrounding Islands.

On the Conflict Islands, named after HMS Conflict, the Royal Navy vessel that first ventured into these parts, you will be spoilt for choice on how to spend your days. The activities include diving and snorkelling, fishing, island tours, sailing, paddle boarding and kayaking or simply relaxing in your own private paradise.

The resort has its own resident chef who uses the abundance of fresh local produce available on the islands to create a delightful cuisine. The surrounding waters also provide a variety of fresh seafood, including numerous varieties of fish, lobster, crayfish and many other marine delicacies.

Previously not open to the public, this island resort was developed as a private hideaway for the owner and is now being opened up to a limited number of guests who want a personalised holiday away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

The secluded island getaway is being offered at a rate of $3,750 (normally $4,500 – $5,000) per person for bookings between December 2011 and June 2012. This price covers all expenses, including transfers to and from Port Moresby, plus all activities, meals and basic alcohol.

To take advantage of this amazing offer, a seven night minimum stay must be booked and the resorts’ occupancy full (12 people). Travel must also be made between December 2011 and June 2012.

The resort is available for individual and group bookings of up to 12 people.
