Luxury business exchange a regional first

Australia is set to take centre stage with this week’s launch of Luxperience, Australasia and Pacific’s international business exchange for the luxury and experiential travel market.  The event, a three day business exchange will be based in Melbourne and will take place September 2-5, next year at the Crown Entertainment complex and is the only event of its type to be held in this region.

Luxperience will offer a business to business sales and marketing platform that will include a high level business exchange over three days for operators in the luxury and experiential travel market.  As part of the Luxperience community, invited members will also access 365 days of business exchange, networking, business development, education and cultural exchange opportunities to enhance their travel business.

The brainchild and founder, Rosemarie Sama has created Luxperience along with a team of travel professionals with a wealth of business savvy and expertise.

“There are some moments in life you know are ‘just right’. This, for me, is one of them. We believe that luxury is more than what money can buy, it’s an experience. I am so excited to be bringing Luxperience to life with such an impressive team.  It’s time the travel industry had a year round community dedicated to the luxury experience, a place where ideas can come to fruition and grow through collaboration. We are dedicated to matching high end suppliers with appropriate buyers so the world of the high end experiential travel market can prosper.  So think of Luxperience as one communal table where connecting is paramount, business is done and lifelong meaningful relationships are guaranteed”, Rosemarie Sama said.

The birth of Luxperience couldn’t come at a better time with awareness and intense discussion on high end and experiential travel by business and tourism industry leaders on the agenda.

The formation of Luxury Lodges of Australia with endorsement from Managing Director for Tourism Australia, Andrew McEvoy confirms demand both within Australia and internationally for product in this league.

James Baillie, owner of luxury properties Capella Lodge, Lord Howe Island and Southern Ocean Lodge, Kangaroo Island, “This is an exciting time for Australia, and the time is right to showcase the wealth and diversity of our uniquely Australian luxury experiences.  We haven’t had both this depth and quality of product before.  Australia has come of age in this important travel niche.”

From an international perspective, Steve McLaughlin, Orion Expedition Cruises business development manager, Asia Pacific notes, “Since our launch in 2004, has become the leading expedition cruise operator in Asia Pacific. Our destinations include the Russian Far East, Inland Sea of Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Borneo, New Zealand, sub-Antarctic islands, Papua New Guinea, Australia’s Kimberley region and the Antarctic Continent.  We are delighted to see the development of a global international business exchange in this region to provide exposure for brands offering amazing and unique experiences such as ours.”
