The new Art and Music Festival BELIEVE IN Marseille takes place on 20 June and will intertwine a diverse variety of music genres, including electro, alternative and even techno.
The festival will provide a diverse line-up including international music figures: MGMT, Jeff Mills and Moodymann.
With the aim of promoting the natural beauty and unique cultural and historical experience of Marseille, France, the festival combines innovative music, graphic performances and live painting and an exciting culinary program in partnership with Gourmediteranée association.
The festival will open its doors with a pop-rock night on the 20th of June, followed by an electro night on the 21st, in order to introduce and showcase artists such as Ben UFO, Mathew Jonson, Lemaitre as well as some talented local artists.
Beyond the music, visual artists (street artists, painters and drawers) such as Rémi Uno, HENG, DIRE 132, JAWS and TABAS, will take over the MUCEM’s esplanade for a series of live, artistic performances.
Located at the bottom of the Villa Mediterranée and the MUCEM, the most visible heritage of Marseille Provence 2013 (awarded as cultural capital of Europe 2013), the J4 esplanade is the ideal location to host this debut two-night art and music festival.
“The innovative concept was easily perceptible due to our desire to valorise Marseille both in France and internationally. BELIEVE IN Marseille was the perfect name chosen for it, it was matching our desires,” explains Virgile Arlaud and Dorian Taguelmint, the festivals two founders.
