Luxury journeys provider, Belmond, has announced a series of expert-led journeys on the rivers of Myanmar, with special guest speakers, throughout the remainder of 2016.
Guests will be treated to a complete immersion – from Burmese language and culture to world military history, photography-led tours and even a yoga retreat, on board the Belmond Orcaella and Belmond Road to Mandalay.
Justin Watkins, Professor of Burmese at SOAS University of London, will host the first cruise aboard the Orcaella on the 16th of August. The twelve night journey, along the 1,207 kilometre length of the Chindwin river, will show guests a lesser-explored part of Myanmar, reaching the foothills of the Himalayas.
Professor Watkins will host lectures and lessons on the languages of the area.
For a complete retreat of body and mind, yoga guru to the stars, Nadia Narain, will take guests on a yoga and meditation journey along the Ayeyarwady river on board the Road to Mandalay on the 24th and 27th of August.
Retired British Army Officer, General Sir Mike Jackson will also be travelling on board the Road to Mandalay on 24th and 27th August, offering insights into some of the most important British Military events in recent history.
Aspiring photographers can join award-winning photographer, Sue Flood, on board the Road to Mandalay on 8th and 12th October. Flood will teach guests how to capture the perfect image, with professional insights and personal tuition for all levels of photographic experience.
