Business travellers keen on padding out their loyalty program balances have new digs in which to utilise their corporate cards in Christchurch. The hotel formerly known as Chateau on the Park has been rebadged and become (wait for it) Chateau on the Park – Christchurch, a DoubleTree by Hilton.
It’s the city’s first Hilton-branded hotel and New Zealand’s fourth after Auckland’s flagship Princes Wharf hotel as well as properties in the holiday locales of Taupo and Queenstown.
According to Hilton Worldwide’s vice president (Operations) Australasia, Paul Hutton, Christchurch’s strong tourism market was the key driver for bringing the brand into the city.
“We are especially proud for the brand to be represented in the re-emerging city of Christchurch – an important hub for both business travellers and leisure tourism in New Zealand.
A five-minute drive to the city centre and within walking distance to Christchurch Botanic Gardens and the Western Business District, the hotel is surrounded by five-acres of lush gardens. Keeping to its ‘Chateau’ title- the hotel features a moat, elegant rose garden and vineyard.
Guests keen on kicking back after a tough day doing something work-related will find the rustic Den Bar, an excellent spot to unwind with its open fireplace and overall cosy setting.
The hotel’s Garden Court Brasserie also offers a relaxed alfresco dining experience with a view overlooking the property’s serene gardens. Other hotel services include a heated swimming pool, fitness centre and a number of business meeting rooms.
For senior vice president and global head, DoubleTree by Hilton, Dianna Vaughan, guests will immediately feel at home with signature Hilton service.
“We know that the little things matter– so, we start by welcoming each guest with a warm chocolate chip cookie and continue to provide the special comforts throughout their stay.”
