A two-Michelin star chef has recently revealed his new creation, Lympstone Manor – a Georgian mansion, transformed into an elegant hotel in East Devon.
The 28-acre property starkly resembles the fictitious country estate of Pemberley. Yet the Mr Darcy behind this ambitious development is Michael Caines, who is one of Britain’s most renowned chefs.
According to chef Micheal, everything that he has achieved in his career to date brought him to a point where he could finally express his vision of contemporary country house hospitality for the 21st century.
The recently refurbished Georgian mansion holds 21 guest rooms, many of which offer balconies with unrivalled views of the estuary and its native fauna. A stone’s throw away from the hotel is the Exe Estuary – home to 20,000 different species of birds.
Award winning cuisine
Lympstone Manor will feature Michael’s award-winning modern European cuisine inspired by local Southwest flavours. Each of the three grand dining rooms (Haldon, Mamhead, and Powderham) overlooks the estate’s immaculate gardens.
Michael’s ambitious plans include the hotel’s own vineyard. The hotel houses two basement cellars where guests will be able to enjoy a degustation dinner or self-trial the innovative Wine Emotion dispenser machines – offering a personalized wine tasting experience.
Lympstone Manor will open in Spring 2017.
