Combining stays in Rome and Sorrento with a week-long Mediterranean cruise is an MSC Cruises’ 14-night fly, tour and cruise package – from under $10,000 a couple.
This Italian Discovery Tour – priced from $4976 per person, twin share – leaves Australia on April 29, 2012, flying Emirates, the cruise aboard MSC Orchestra beginning in Naples and calling on Italy’s Livorno, the French Riviera’s quaint Villefranche, Valencia and Ibiza in Spain, Tunis and Italy’s Catania before returning to Naples.
Prior to the cruise, two nights will be spent in Rome with guided sightseeing before heading south by road to ancient Pompeii and a three-night stay in Sorrento, including a cruise to the Isle of Capri and an excursion along the breathtaking Amalfi Coast.
After the MSC Orchestra cruise, the tour will return to Rome with a visit of the famous Tivoli Gardens.
Price includes return air fare from Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne or Perth to Rome, transfers, two nights’ accommodation with breakfast, the services of a tour manager and three nights’ accommodation in Sorrento with breakfast.
Transfers to the port in Naples are also included along with the services of guides in Rome, Pompeii, Capri and Montecassino, cruise excursion to Capri, entrance fees to Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel, Pompeii, Villa Rufolo and the Tivoli Gardens.
Meals and entertainment on the seven-night cruise and an invitation to the Captain’s cocktail party and gala dinner, transfers from Naples to Rome, taxes for land services and gratuities for restaurant services arranged as part of the land program are also included as are port charges and airports taxes.
From October 9, 2012, MSC Cruises will host another, slightly different 14-night Italian Discovery Tour which will incorporate four pre-cruise nights in San Gimignano before boarding MSC Orchestra for a seven-night cruise which begins in Livorno and calls on Villefranche, Valencia, Ibiza, Tunis, Catania and Naples before returning to Livorno.
