Starwood Hotels & Resorts have this week announced the opening of Sheraton Samui Resort, taking the brand’s total number of properties in Thailand to six.
The 141-room hotel is located at Chawend Noi Beach on the island of Koh Samui, a popular island destination among tourists.
“The opening of Sheraton Samui Resort is set to solidify our presence in Koh Samui, Thailand’s second largest island,” said Lothar Pehl, Senior Vice President, Operations and Global Initiatives, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Asia Pacific. “As a global icon, the Sheraton brand is well-poised to meet the demands for contemporary upper-upscale accommodations, and we are confident that the brand will continue to resonate with travellers given its successes across the Thai Kingdom.”
Occupying prime real estate, the hotel commands spectacular beach views and is conveniently located near markets and attractions such as the temple of Wat Kunaram. Those looking for adventure will also be spoilt for choice, with activities ranging from diving and snorkelling on the islands of Koh Tao and Koh Nang Yuan to hiking the nearby Angthong National Park.
Each room is fitted with modern day comforts, making a stay at the Sheraton a sojourn in paradise with all the convenience of modern facilities – high speed Internet access, a LCD TV and a private balcony with ocean or garden views.
Recreational facilities include tennis courts and two salt-water swimming pools as well as the Glow Spa, which has seven treatment rooms.
Relax by the beach at the Blue Monkey, an open air beach club-style bar, or try the fusion menu at Coco Spice. If you’re looking for something that captures the best of both options, Long Talay does just that; a beachfront dining restaurant inspired by the increasingly trendy open kitchen concept, Long Talay offers front row seats to the kitchen and showcases the best of Thai cuisine.
