Mostly Mozart at New York’s Lincoln Center is a New York institution. Now celebrating its 45th year, it is America’s first indoor music festival.
Internationally acclaimed choreographer Mark Morris has led his dance group at the festival for the last 10 years and was one of the most sought-after tickets of the festival this summer.
Morris is known for his musicality and sees himself as a “musician in the form of a choreographer.”
From Bach to Vivaldi, Morris has been dubbed the “Mozart of modern dance.”
Over 30 years, Morris has created hundreds of dances for his own group, as well as major ballet and opera companies around the world.
A force to be reckoned with even in its infancy, the group became the national dance company of Belgium in the 80s, and spent three years in residence. Now based in the US, the MMDG continues to be a touring company, always performing a different show at major venues on the domestic and international stage.
The MMDG provides a perfectly blended evening of classical music and both traditional and non-traditional modern dance.
