Take the family to China with Helen Wong

The growth in popularity of family travel has resulted in the unveiling of a new exciting itinerary – in China.

Leading tour specialist Helen Wong’s Tours has added to its 2012-2013 China program a 14-day Family Affair group tour which features such experiences as a journey on the world’s fastest train in Shanghai and a spectacular sound and light show on a cable car tunnel ride, also in Shanghai.

A visit to one of the world’s tallest towers (Shanghai) is also on the itinerary along with a viewing of a world famous acrobatic show (Shanghai), seats for the exciting Legend of Kung Fu performance (Beijing) and a cycle rickshaw tour of Beijing’s back alleys.
While in Shanghai and Beijing, the group will spend time with a local family, learning about their daily routines.

For a bit more fun and play, the tour extends to Hong Kong for a day at Disneyland, and the former Portuguese enclave Macau, for a seat at the world’s largest water-based production, House of the Dancing Water.

“This group tour is truly one for the family,” said Helen Wong whose company is celebrating its 25th year organising tours to China. “Not only is it jam packed with features for the children,” she said acknowledging a growing demand in Australia for family travel.

“It’s a well balanced itinerary that has plenty to enlighten the adults as well, for the young and young-at-heart.

“Such fascinating sights as the Great Wall of China, the Forbidden City in Beijing and the Bund along Shanghai’s waterfront are included along with a tantalising Peking Duck dinner.

“A guided tour of Macau and some of its preserved 25 UNESCO World Heritage listed sites is also included.”

Helen Wong’s Tours’ 14-day Family Affair tour – Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Macau – is priced from $4220 per adult, twin share, from Australia, children (2-11 years) from $2990.

Prices include return Cathay Pacific air fares from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth (Qantas from Adelaide), air fares within China, 12 nights’ four-to-five star accommodation, daily breakfasts, some lunches and dinners, three evening cultural shows with transfers, sightseeing and entrance fee and the assistance of English-speaking guides.
