The world’s leading wine tourism event, the Bordeaux Wine Festival will commence this year from the 26th to 29th June in the heart of Bordeaux, at the ‘Esplanade des Quinconces’ on the gorgeous banks of UNESCO Heritage-listed Garonne.
The 2014 festival will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the pairing of Bordeaux and its sister city in the US, Los Angeles, who will act as the guest of honour.
A Tasting Pass enables visitors to explore vintage Bordeaux and other local wines with over 400,000 samples available as well as meet with local producers and wine merchants at the ten Appellation Pavilions and Vintage Pavilions.
This pass costs 15€ if purchased beforehand, or 20€ at the event and includes 13 tickets, a glass, glass holder and transport ticket.
While a Vineyard Pass allows visitors to discover mythical vineyards, visit beautiful chateaux while learning about and sampling the wines (costing from 60 to 145€).
Numerous activities and special events are scheduled to keep one highly entertained, including wine courses and master classes conducted by the Bordeaux Wine School, art exhibitions, concerts, fireworks, sound and light shows and so forth.
There will also be a cinema devoted to classic Hollywood films and the Bordeaux Music Festival (four concerts in four days) with tickets purchased for 30€.
