Yves Klein comes to life

Avant-garde… Yves Klein at work in 1960

The work of French painter Yves Klein, one of last century’s most influential artists, is famed across the globe.

With a prolific carrer that lasted only from 1954 to 1962 (after the artist died of a heart attack at age 34) Klein took the European art scene by storm and, today, continues to influence the making of modern art.

This month, the artist’s innovative work comes to life in Sydney with a live body art performance at the Tap Gallery.

The Gallery’s Body painting Performance will feature two ethereal nude female figures as living brushes.

The female nudes will be dosed in Klein’s legendary blue pigment, International Klein Blue (IKB), then dragged, rolled, and impressed onto canvases as a tribute to the artist
